Once Upon a Pine offers a selection of individual, handcrafted reclaimed wood furniture and decorative items for the home. Made from local reclaimed wood, these furnishings carry the marks of generations. Designed and built by a skilled craftsman, they are elegant but familiar.
William Morris said that you should have nothing in your home that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful – Once Upon a Pine’s pieces marry those two concerns perfectly.
We have reclaimed wood from a variety of sources near our base in North Yorkshire. We take only wood from structures or elements of structures that are permanently unsound, meaning that the wood needs to be removed or replaced, and would otherwise go to waste.
We currently have reclaimed wood from numerous diverse buildings such as a Victorian Milking Parlour, a Georgian Stable Block, a former Coaching Inn and several barns which have undergone restoration. No barns were harmed in the making of these pieces!
Each Once Upon a Pine item of furniture and decorative piece comes with a personalised Provenance tag, telling you where the reclaimed wood was sourced for your handcrafted collectible item.

Once Upon a Pine also offers vintage bedroom and kitchen linen, as well as other unique clocks and antique and vintage items from our collections spanning more than forty years. From our collection of Women’s Magazines dating from 1912 -1949, vintage photographs and postcards we have created a range of wall décor which combines these vintage images with carefully selected pieces of reclaimed wood.
